Family & community support

Working with families and neighbours so that children can be safe at home.

Who it supports

  • Parents, grandparents and other caregivers of children connected to Khumbulani.
  • Community members and organisations working to keep children safe.

What the programme does

  • Supports family contact and, where safe and appropriate, a child's return home — always guided by social workers.
  • Connects families with services such as social grants, health care and parenting support.
  • Shares information in the community about children's rights and how to report concerns.

Why it matters

Most children do best with their own families when it is safe. Supporting caregivers and strengthening community networks helps prevent harm in the first place and helps children return home well.

Impact

Supporting caregivers and working with neighbours helps more children stay safely with their families and community. We report on this work in our annual reports.

Programme figures will be published here once they have been verified.
