Fundraise for Khumbulani

Turn your birthday, sports challenge or office event into support for children in Khayelitsha.

Ideas to get you started

Celebrate

Ask friends to donate instead of giving birthday, wedding or anniversary gifts.

Take on a challenge

Walk, run, cycle or swim and ask people to sponsor you.

Bake and sell

Hold a bake sale or a braai at work, school or church.

At work

Run a casual Friday, a payroll-giving drive or match staff donations.

At school

Organise a stationery drive or a fun day with a small entry fee.

In the community

Collect warm clothing, toiletries or non-perishable food.

How it works

  1. Tell us your idea

Use the form below so we can thank you, support you and make sure everything is above board.

  2. Plan and promote

We can share information about Khumbulani for you to use. Please do not use photos of children unless we provide them for that purpose.

  3. Collect donations safely

Ask supporters to give directly through our Donate page where possible, so every gift goes straight to Khumbulani.

  4. Share the result

Let us know how it went. With your permission we may share your story.

A few important rules

  • Please describe our work accurately and do not promise donors anything on our behalf.
  • Cash collections must be handled by at least two adults and passed on promptly.
  • Never share personal information or photos of children in our care.
  • You may say you are fundraising for Khumbulani, but please do not present yourself as staff or an official representative.
