Child care & protection

A safe, caring place for children who need protection, with a stable routine and caring adults.

Who it supports

  • Children who need a safe place to stay because of neglect, abuse, abandonment or a crisis at home.

What the programme does

  • Provides a safe, supervised living environment with a predictable daily routine.
  • Meets everyday needs: a bed, meals, clothing, hygiene and rest.
  • Gives each child attention from caring adults who know them by name.
  • Works with designated social workers on each child's care plan and next steps.

Why it matters

A child who has been harmed or left without care needs to feel safe before anything else is possible. Stable, kind care — even for a short period — gives children room to recover and gives the adults responsible for them time to make a good plan for the future.

Impact

Every child who stays with us is given a safe place to sleep, regular meals and caring adults, while the people responsible for their future work out the best next step. We report on this work in our annual reports.

Programme figures will be published here once they have been verified.
